Welcome to Hudson County, New Jersey

Hudson County is located atop the Palisades along the Hudson River in northeast New Jersey. It forms part of the New York Metropolitan Area Tri-State Region and as of 2009, had an estimated population of 598,160 residents. In terms of land mass, Hudson is the smallest County in New Jersey, but it is also the most populous. Hudson is mostly surrounded by water, its only land border being with Bergen County to the north and west. Though Ellis Island is managed jointly by the states of New Jersey and New York, 9/10ths of the Island is technically in Hudson County. The county seat of Hudson is Jersey City. Other cities, towns and townships in Hudson County include Bayonne, East Newark, Guttenberg, Kearney, Harrison, Hoboken, North Bergen, Secaucus, Union City, Weehawken and West New York. 

Hudson County is known for its sweeping views of the Hudson River and Upper New York Bay. From the highest point of Hudson atop the Palisades, one can enjoy magnificent views of Manhattan Island and the surrounding landscape and waterscape. Though Hudson is the smallest County in New Jersey, while at the same time being the most populous, Hudson has many beautiful parks and open green spaces including, Church Square Park, Columbus Park, Ellsworth Park (Pigeon Park), Hamilton Park, Hudson County Park, Laurel Hill, Lincoln Park, Mercer Park, North Hudson Park, Washington Park and West Hudson Park.
