Oakland New Jersey is a small borough located in the Pascack Valley region of Bergen, New Jersey. According to 2009 census estimates, there were 13,400 people residing in this lovely and peaceful hamlet. Oakland is located approximately 23 northwest of Manhattan, which gives Oakland residents convenient access to any amenities that cannot be gotten right here in town. There are numerous recreational areas in Oakland, the most popular being the “Rec Field” located off Oak Street. This recreational area features six tennis courts, nine baseball and softball fields, basketball courts, and a hockey rink. For those who prefer the great outdoors, the Ramapo Mountain State Forest offers a great way to spend the day in a natural beauty of the Pascack Valley region.
